Jacob had a difficult history. His story began when he arrived at one of our transplant centers. After some tests, it was discovered that he had a tumor in his prostate gland. Doctors in Israel had already approved Jacob for a transplant. He had undergone the same tests in Israel, but no tumor was detected there.

Fortunately for Jacob, our connections to medical professionals and world-class hospitals in Turkey helped him get back on his feet—literally. However, Jacob had to go to Israel to have his tumor removed. He was disappointed and asked us for help.

We told Jacob not to worry. We contacted our network of hospitals and organized medical treatment to remove his tumor first. Afterward, Jacob underwent a kidney transplant and is now more alive than ever.

For Lukas, there was always a way out. In spring 2019, he was diagnosed with kidney failure for the first time.

His condition worsened day by day. He had just started dialysis, and his creatinine levels were rising. He was looking for an alternative to dialysis, which he knew was slowly draining him.

“I can’t just stand by and watch,” he said during our first phone call.

Lukas was willing to do whatever was necessary. The kidney allocation system in Israel was inadequate. He tried to find help in his community. But, as in the US, the rate of living kidney donations in Israel is extremely low. Many people are uninformed about the issue, and patients wait an average of 12 years on the national waiting list.

Lukas found us through a recommendation. A colleague’s aunt had received a successful kidney transplant in Slovakia with our help.

“The way she described your company really gave me hope,” he says.

Lukas was now more determined than ever. His positive attitude was a bright ray of light in his deteriorating condition.

And all it took was one phone call. He took his chance and never looked back. We sent his medical reports to the list of transplant centers we work with.

He didn’t receive an immediate response. There was another problem. He had developed peritonitis, an infection often associated with peritoneal dialysis.
